Mawanandi

The deceased was carefully washed, painted, and anointed with fragrant oils. Nails and hair were trimmed, and dressed in his finest clothes, holding his best tools, the deceased was laid to rest at home. Mourning festivities commenced as the deceased was a member of a particular craft guild.
Mawanandi, one of the guild members, arrived in special attire to pay homage to his fellow member. Lamentations, songs, and drumming filled the air well into the night. At one point, Mawanandi, exhausted, left the room of the deceased to freshen up. He then returned to participate in the rituals, his face intricately adorned, long black hair gracefully falling, and his shrewd eyes often squinted in concentration.
Mawanandi, with his unique appearance, engaged in the ritual acts as a tribute to the departed and as a symbol of unity within the craft guild.
