Water tower in Goes.

Various drawing and painting techniques and photo editing

Peace and Architecture in a Single Image

During our many trips through Zeeland, I came across the water tower in Goes, a beautiful structure from 1912. I found it a fascinating subject because of the steel open framework beneath the former water reservoir. Today, the tower houses offices and apartments, a fine example of adaptive reuse.

The houses in the foreground give a clear sense of the tower’s height. The text is incorporated purely for decorative purposes. The combination of blue and light brown tones creates a calming effect, making this artwork a lovely addition to living rooms or office spaces.
