The crack in Tallinn

During a visit to an old church in Tallinn, my attention was drawn to a sculpture that was displayed there. It was not only the sculpture itself, but especially the striking crack running through it, that fascinated me. This imperfection created an unexpected effect: the fracture added a new layer of meaning and made the sculpture, in my perception, even more intriguing.

The crack became a symbol of the inner division of a person who may feel fragmented — through experiences, emotions, or circumstances. What initially appears to be a flaw reveals a sense of beauty and vulnerability.

With this graphic artwork, I aim to place the crack at the center and emphasize that imperfections are not merely traces of damage, but also places where meaning, strength, and beauty can emerge.
